A man who tried to take a stun gun onto a flight at Chicago O'Hare airport was arrested after security screeners discovered the gun, police said.

The North Carolina resident was on his way back from Nigeria via Frankfurt when he attempted to board a flight to North Carolina at about 3:20 pm Wednesday (1720 GMT). Police were not sure how he obtained the stun gun or if he had been carrying it on the earlier flights.

John Adegbenjo, 31, was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and attempting to board an aircraft with a weapon.
